Privacy notice

Demo Yardım Derneği (the “Association”), as data controller under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), processes the personal data of our donors, volunteers and people who contact us as described below.

Personal data we process

• Identity: full name and, optionally, Turkish ID number
• Contact: mobile phone, email address, city
• Transaction: donation amount, cause, date, receipt details, Qurbani proxy and share-holder names
• Applications: what you write in the contact and volunteer forms
• Security: IP address, browser information, transaction logs

Religious donations such as Qurbani, zakat and fitrana, and association membership, may count as special-category personal data. Such data is processed with the safeguards set by the Personal Data Protection Board.

Purposes and legal grounds

• Receiving the donation, issuing the receipt and the record-keeping duties under Associations Law No. 5253 and the Associations Regulation (KVKK art. 5/2-a, ç)
• Carrying out the donation and Qurbani proxy and informing you of the result (KVKK art. 5/2-c)
• Reviewing your contact and volunteer applications and replying to you (KVKK art. 5/2-c, f)
• Information security and fraud prevention (KVKK art. 5/2-f)
• Campaign and announcement messages: only with your explicit consent

Transfers

Your data is shared only for these purposes and only as needed: with the bank or licensed payment provider to take payment, with SMS and email providers for notifications, with our software and hosting supplier, and with public authorities when legally required. Your card details are never seen or stored by the Association.

Retention

Receipts and accounting records are kept for the period required by law; other data is kept until the purpose ends and is then deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

Your rights

Under article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to learn whether your data is processed, to request information, correction or deletion, to object and to claim compensation. You can withdraw consent for campaign messages at any time in your donor portal. Donor account
